4 Keys To Successfully Resolving Workplace Conflicts

Here’s a situation I’m sure we’ve all experienced before – you’re at work talking with a group of people when almost of the blue a conflict erupts. In that moment, it’s like someone flicked a switch that made the air feel thick and full of tension.

Thanks to our innate fight-or-flight threat response, it’s only natural that we view workplace conflicts with dread, as an unpleasant experience one should avoid.

But what if there is an effective way to navigate these challenging moments? And what if the approach is something anyone can apply to achieve a positive outcome?

In this edition of my “Leadership Espresso Shot” series, that is exactly what I share and it’s inspired by a real-life encounter that proved how successful this approach is to resolving workplace conflicts.

The truth is all of us will continue to experience such unexpected and unwanted confrontations at work, something which sadly is becoming more common thanks to the rise of incivility in so many workplaces today.

But that reality doesn’t mean we have to avoid them or prevent them from happening to ensure we have a healthy and successful team culture.
